We Happy Few
"We Happy Few" immerses players in a retro-futuristic, drug-fueled dystopia where conformity is key to survival. Set in an alternative 1960s England, players must navigate the cheerful denial of Wellington Wells, blending in with its drugged inhabitants or facing their wrath. Played from a first-person perspective, the game combines role-playing, survival, and roguelike elements as players control one of three characters (Arthur, Sally, and Ollie) striving to escape the crumbling city. Narrative themes include chase/pursuit, sneaking, grief, and loss. Special thanks to YouTubers Jacksepticeye & Markiplier for playing through this game, allowing us to pull a lot of this information from their videos.

END GAME SPOILERS: During the war, as German forces advanced on Britain, the residents of Wellington Wells reluctantly surrendered their children to the invaders without resistance. Soon after, they realized that the invading "army" was a deceptive ploy, designed to exaggerate the enemy's strength. The situation took a tragic turn when the townsfolk attempted to retrieve their children, only to find out that the train carrying them had been destroyed in a bombing, resulting in the loss of all lives and making their surrender futile. Upon discovering this cruel truth, people understandably descended into madness, resorting to regular self-medication in a desperate attempt to erase the painful memories.
